The Summer 10x10 Challenge - Minimalist Edition

10 Pieces x 10 outfits x 10 days

I'm SO excited about the Summer 10x10challenge! If you aren't familiar, you can learn about it here and see my recap of the Winter 10x10challenge here. Honestly, I wasn't going to participate because I was on a social media break and would start late but I couldn't help after seeing so many cool outfits from the #10x10Challenge on Instagram!

After getting really inspired after reading Lee Vosburgh's, the creator of the 10x10challenge post, I will also be updating THIS post (yes this one you're reading) with outfits and thoughts from Days 1-10. So, scroll down to see the 10 pieces that I'll be wearing for the next 10 days!

GOALS

My goal for doing this 10x10 challenge is to be grateful for the clothes that are already in my capsule wardrobe. I've had a little itch to go shopping for myself but it was honestly been rooted in feeling pressured to show you new outfits and body insecurities. Fortunately, I didn't cave and reminded myself of two things that shifted my mindset to gratitude:

1) I'm actually a minimalist and even if I wasn't...outfit repeating is COOL! 2) I'm beautiful whether I'm at my heaviest or "ideal" weight. I'm just grateful that my body can freely move, dance, jiggle, and walk on a daily without assistance.

If you need help in this area too then check out my guide for shopping with intention. This helps me from buying random crap that I don't need.

DAY ONE

Summer10x10Challenge-ClothedInAbundance

UZI NYC Now Dress + Long Black Shorts + Osborn Clarity Flats

I knew I was going to somehow incorporate one of my favorite brands UZI NYC. I'm wearing their Now Dress in Black ($130) paired with some long black shorts that I thrifted at Value Village. Since I'm working all day, I chose my Clarity Flats because ya girl is on the move! Plus, I like that they add a bit of color and dimension to my all black outfit. Check out the Cost Per Wear post I did on these $130 flats, here

DAY THREE

I originally felt weird about wearing this outfit because I would typically button up this shirt and keep the sleeves long. But, it was so hot that I threw on Uniqlo's #AIRism Tank paired with my long black shorts and Clarity Flats. It was perfect for a taco dinner to celebrate one of my closest friend's birthday!

DAY FOUR

Cropped Black Sleeveless Knit Top + Long Black Shorts + Osborn Clarity Flats

Yesterday, was manic as I rushed to an interview and then a 2 hour+ bus ride to get my braids redone. So, you can imagine why I wanted to wear the most simple outfit imaginable. I was going to pick out an outfit and remembered, oh yeah, I'm doing the 10x10challenge! Long black shorts and Black crop top, paired with my Clarity Flats are a warm summer uniform.

DAY FIVE

Cropped Black Sleeveless Knit Top + Light Washed Boyfriend Jeans

Today's look is super casual since I'm going to be running errands and getting a lot of work done for this busy week. So, I'm wearing these light wash boyfriend jeans that I thrifted from Value Village, paired with my black knit crop sweater. It's still hot in Seattle but it keeps me warm if it's breezy while keeping me cool because it's sleeveless. I've seen some other cute styles here and here. They are definitely a good staple to have in your wardrobe!
