The Metallic Trend for Minimal Capsule Wardrobes
When James picked this top out for me, I just looked at him and rolled my eyes. "You want me to wear aluminum foil?" as I giggled while looking through the racks. He responded, "Come on! I think it's actually cool. It's very artsy, you could pull it off." The more I looked at it the more I gravitated towards the boat neck style, sharp pleats, long sleeves, and boxy silhouette. This silver metallic top became unbelievably beautiful in it's own right.
The first time I wore this top out, people's eyes popped up from their screens and snickered. Even though I had moments of buyer's remorse, it felt brave to wear what I wanted. Plus, at the end of the day it is just a shirt. But how often do we fear going public with our dreams or style due to the opinions of people?
SHOP THE LOOK
I know it's just a shirt but the teeny tiny steps of daily bravery fills up your self-confidence cup. People talk bad about me all the time. I'll be the first to admit that it's still challenging for me to let things go or not get offended. But at the end of the day, I have to publicly walk out and be proud to be me. Whether you are wearing something you're afraid to or if people spit their unsolicited opinions at you - fix your posture, stand tall, and listen but don't absorb anything they say. You aren't weird. The world needs you. Remember, I'm fighting with you.
