My Top 7 Wardrobe Essentials

As I opened the large brown door to my wardrobe, I scanned around to see all the pieces I've collected over the years. There's possibly over 15 things pushed to the back that I haven't touched! I wanted to start a series here and on youtube channel where I give you my fashion advice and styling tips. As for the clothes, I've decided to sell a lot of these items on the Poshmark app (@debbyboovlogs) and narrowed it down to my Top 7 Wardrobe Essentials.

The Oversized Coat
An oversized coat is not only for keeping you warm during the icy winter months but also for layering. I love pairing light outwear pieces underneath the big coat for when I'm headed indoors. These coats could make you look a bit "manly" but try purchasing one with buttons and sharp lapels for a more feminine style.

A Leather Jacket
Apologies in advance to my vegan friends but this AllSaints beauty is the perfect addition to a minimalist's closet. It's easily one of my favorite pieces in my closet. Find a leather jacket that will last you for years is hard, especially the trendy ones. But this classic motto is perfect for day plans and fun nights out.

A White Button Down
The right button down can take you out to drinks with the girls, to landing the job of your dreams. Ok, maybe it's not that serious but this shirt is definitely a staple! All of the monochromatic or black and white trend lovers need this priest style shirt. The missing collar adds modern twist to a traditional style (photo: Tumblr).

High Waisted Denim
Let's give a standing novation for the number one, most universally flattering style of jeans for all body types. I have large thighs and bum, thin calfs, and skinny ankles. It makes me look so smooth and curvy that now I am craving a different wash in them. There's nothing more I can say about this style of denim except buy them now

 Ankle Boots
If you followed my previous blog then you know that I love boots and wear them year round. Boots adds flare to casual looks and dresses down glamorous looks. It's the perfect shoe to pair with any outfit in your closet. Nothing beats one of my favorite vintage finds of these burgundy/brown leather boots that I scored for under $50.00! I even got the soles replaced because they are essential to my outfits.

 A Statement Bag
All black outfits are fun but I like to incorporate color in my accessories whenever I get the chance. Buying colorful structured bags adds a pop to a minimal look. This bright baby blue bag is still neutral enough even when I wear other colors, they don't clash.

A Gold Watch
Although we have our gold and silver smart phones, it's nice to carry a traditional watch around  for the times when you can't be on your phone. Not only do watches tell the time but they can be used as accessories for outfits. Whether you're rocking something edgy or a little preppy, you need to have a watch to add professionalism to your look.
